LONG POEMS

I generally don't write very long poems. Most are one or two stanzas. I am currently writing one that is at least six stanzas. I wonder if this is a move toward writing more prose?

WORDS OF WISDOM

What can't be said can be written. Because writing is a silent act, a labor from the head to the hand.

~Herta Muller

BECOMING

I find placing myself in arenas totally foreign to me to be a thrilling experience. I imagine myself a heroine, or a queen, or hiking alone in the mountains.  There may be the idea that an author should be detached from the piece he/she is writing. I don't find that to be true. I will never be a queen but surely can imagine it. Hiking in the mountains is a real possibility.

An author cannot be afraid of discovering unknown revelations in his/her life that were hidden. It can make a written piece come alive. At the same time it can create a bridge to one can cross while on their life journey. The past few years I have broken down my own barriers as to what I desire to write-and deep seated feelings of who I am.
