PICKING A PLACE

Picking a place as a backdrop for a story/novel shouldn't be difficult. It can be an exotic island, airplane, basement, a town or an old castle. Wherever the place the story still has to maintain the readers interest.

I like lighthouses and castles. The latter is especially great for settings in horror stories. I wrote a story several years ago with a basement as the setting. The subject went from feeding a fetish to self -discovery and then liberation.

I enjoy walking past old abandoned buildings. At one time people were living or working there. I wonder how many stories were made there? If only the walls could talk.
