Jack Kerouac is one of my favorite authors. The architect of the novels 'On The Road', 'Dharma Bums' and 'Big Sur', Kerouac actually lived what he wrote. Some have talked about adventure and exploits, Jack went out and did it.
Looking back, I remember the long drives to Colorado and Maryland from Kansas. I remember watching the sun set in the Pacific Ocean while visiting California. I still derive much joy from hanging out in the countryside or sitting in Washington Square Park getting off on the vibes.
It's one thing to talk about adventures; it's another to actually experience it. As a child I wondered through the woods wondering what I may encounter. I still have that curiosity now that I'm in my seventies. I pray that it never dies.
