LOSING SMALL ARTISTIC PLACES.

I passed by the 13th Street theater today. It's an off off Broadway theater nestled between Fifth and Sixth Avenue. I've never been in the establishment but it reminded me of the numerous small venues that are slowly disappearing. High rents are driving these places out of business. I get the changing tastes but that is not always the case. The city is losing its artistic chops to develops and those who believe that art can only created by those with money and influence.

I do support places like this because it's where struggling writers,  actors, and artists can get their work heard, seen, and performed. There's much creativity and artistry out there. I'm happy that my place of worship has month classical concerts. More places are needed.
