ORSON WELLES
An actor I've always admired was Orson Welles (1915-1985). He rose to fame through his radio broadcast of 'War Of The Worlds'. His performance was so riveting that it sent many communities into a near panic. He was wonderful in Citizen Kane.
Welles was a tremendous stage actor, director, writer, and producer. His battle with Randolph Hearst regarding certain aspects of Citizen Kane affected both men permanently. Apparently, to Hearst, it either it too close to home or was right on the mark. This public battle affected bpth men deeply and they were never the same. In my mind, Welles never reached his full potential as a performer.
I recommend Citizen Kane as it was one of the best films I've seen. His other performances were good also. Would have loved to have seen Welles on stage. I believe that his best performances were before a live audience.
