Novella and Prose

For the longest I have been wanting to write a novella. I don't believe that I have the patience to write a novel. The fact that novellas aren't one of the most popular genres intrigues me. It's the type of challenge I welcome.

I've written a couple of prose poems in the past. Many of my poems aren't that long. I have those times when I have much to say. I believe that prose poems will bring out the best in me.

I compare novella writing and prose poetry to the middle relief pitcher in baseball. He's called on to hold down the fort until his team can get back in the game. It's not a glorious spot but is important to the team. Novellas and prose poetry aren't popular but there is a niche in the market for them.
