A girl is sitting in a boy's lap
The buzz of quiet conversation
drowned out by the train's rumble
along iron rails.
The conductor's scratchy voice on the speaker hollers
Next stop, 42nd Street!
Folks read or listen music on their Ipods
A few doze off
Me? I'm just sitting here, capturing it all
And writing about it.
