TWEAKING A STORY

I generally don't tweak too many stories that I write. There is one story I wrote two or three years ago that has been tweaked several times. It is a story of a former college star athlete who enters the murky waters of adult entertainment. The protagonist has avoided the many pitfalls of his profession that a number of his peers have fallen into. He has maintained his own identity.

I have added some things, removed others, or rearranged sentences or paragraphs.I'm careful that theme of the story stays intact. If I find that the theme changes too much, I will stop, or, at worst, rewrite the story. Fortunately it doesn't happen that often. While all this rewriting can be time consuming, I enjoy it.
