HONOR THOSE WHO GAVE ALL

WRITER'S BLOCK

I don't believe that I have experienced writer's block, but I have had times I took a break from writing. I needed to desaturate from some much information in my head.

I have written over sixty musings and quips for future stories and poems. Small ideas pop in my head. I see something or someone outside and write a description in my notebook. Writing is not a sprint; it's a lifelong journey that will take me to new places.

COMMENTARY

A few days ago I posted a photo of pad and pen and the need to always carry them. Today I made much use of them today.

I went downtown to Chinatown and sat in a park that I enjoy going to. I wrote a couple of poems. I jotted down a description of a woman sitting on the bench across from me. I felt the need to write down my feelings about solitude, aloneness, the the desire to be anonymous. I would have forgotten much of this if I didn't have something to write with.

Here's so much to draw from just by paying attention to my surroundings. I like writing the beautiful things around me. I also write about not so beautiful things. The homeless person. A child crying. An abandoned building. They are story ideas nevertheless.
