SYLVIA PLATH-COMPLEX AND COMPELLING

I have read part of the above book that I will finish. Ms. Plath is one of my favorite poets: poignant, complex, and compelling. I'm drawn to such people because it says to me that people don't always fit into the box society says that they are supposed to be.

When I first read Ms. Plath's poems, it was confusing, going through a maze. when I read her biography, I gained a clearer understanding of her mindset. Reading her journals, I see a woman who is brilliant and self-sabotaging; poignant, yet angry. I'm not sure if she knew who she was, yet her life journey took her to places that I cannot comprehend.

A STORY TO NOVELLA OR TRILOGY?

I wrote a story about a former college star athlete who became a star in adult movies. I thought it would just be one story. Over time I have the protagonist evolving. From athlete to movie star to teacher to now a recluse.

I'm sure many writers have followed this path. Trilogies come from this vein. So do serial novels (just thought of Jacqueline Susann's novels). I don't know if a trilogy of 'Trey Morgan' will come from my efforts. Maybe a novella or short stories.

Seems that when I believe I'm finished with Trey, another idea comes up. He is complicated person; gifted, talented,  quiet, unassuming, a loner. He's quirky, has a penchant for having unusual friends, and lives a eonted life. I'm still developing the story.
