WORDS OF WISDOM

A woman who is willing to beerself and pursue her own potential
runs not so much the risk of lonelness, as the challenge of exposure
to more interesting men-and people in general.

~Lorraine Hansberry, African American writer(1930-1965)

Poem

All the layers of I life are stripped bare
I'm not the person I thought I was
The nagging thought that I was someone else,
is staring at me
Who is this stranger? What do you want?
It's a bad dream, I surmise.
I'll go to sleep
Tomorrow will be another day.
A new day and nothing's changed.
I walk down the street. I work. I attend church.
Yet this other person seeks to take over.
Nerves are taught like tuning a guitar string.
My destiny is closing in.
I am tired. I am in distress.
I admit that I am this other person.
Finally, I found peace.
No more distress.
I have become. I am.
